Blog #4 The highest honor to bestow on our war dead

Hi again cadets and welcome back again to your 4th Blog Post.  This week we are staying with our courtesies and this one has to do when a person serving in the military is killed and they are buried.  Watch the following video and post your response as to what type of courtesies are displayed during the film. Write how you feel after watching the video and then find another video that gives respect to our military as a courtesy for their sacrifices that they make for their country.  As LET1's you are starting to get the hang of the blog and for those that are doing so, keep up the great work. Help your fellow cadet's out if they are having problems and let's build a stronger team. Here is your video:

The courtesies shown in this video are the usual in a military funeral but with a twist. the 21 gun salute, military taps etc. but the airplanes flying over was a nice addition to honor the airmen who gave their lives. I feel like this was well overdue but I guess you can't do a proper military funeral without the actual remains of the person. After the 40 years it took to find them I think the extra addition to the funeral was necessary for their family's sake.
This video shows the respect to the U.S Military

the courtesies that are displayed in this video is the 21 gun salute which is to honor people who sacrificed or died and it is fired at the funeral. I think there is also ruffles and flourishes because the members of the air force was playing music for the honor of the dead air force members. there was also the tap salute and they order planes to fly over the funeral place as an honor to them for being part of the air force. my feeling to this video is that I think they worked hard to give a good funeral to honor the people who died at war but I think they should make it more special and put more effort to it because they sacrificed for our country and to keep all us citizens safe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rx4XTZ2mUV0

The courtesies presented in the video were the exhibition of the gun salute, the use of proper titles, and the display of hand salutes. In respective order, the purpose of the aforementioned civilities are to honor military members and civilian leaders, to uphold the achievements of the individual, and to enforce the significance of the social hierarchy. Being as how even veterans who have never met the fallen airmen flew across the country in order to showcase honor and sympathy makes me feel that selfless individuals are not so rare after all. In addition, the video proves that members of the military remain solid on retaining traditions and customs as a symbol of respect.

Throughout the video of the ceremonial burial of the two fallen airmen many courtesies were displayed. The courtesies displayed was the 21 gun salute, taps, saluting and my favorite part was when the planes flew over the sight. The men/woman that took time out of there day and came from other places to fly the planes are truly blessed. After a long wait the two fallen airmen deserved an outstanding ceremony.

The video illustrated the military traditions of the 21 gun salute, the military funeral music 'Taps' and the pilots flying over. I felt as if the military does indeed care for its fallen after watching the video.
