  1. The story of how the flag stayed up has a lot of symbolism, for never giving up or staying strong. The reason the flag stayed up is because of the men. They showed the British that they had undying loyalty to their cause of freedom and liberty.

The video is about how the flag evolved through time and it stayed up through the war of 1812. This man named Francis Scott Key a lawyer of the U.S. reported that the flag stayed up for the whole war, later on he wrote the star spangle banner because he was able to witness the people working hard to protect their flag which represented their loyalty and freedom. Key's work eventually became the national anthem of the U.S.

The video recounts the story of the origin of the Star Spangled Banner. We've been singing it for centuries, yet, many do not know the full story behind it. Francis Scott Key, a lawyer from Baltimore, was sent to negotiate with British troops over the release of some American soldiers being held hostage. They finally reached a deal, in which they would exchange the American captives for British prisoners. However, there was an ultimatum by the British Admiral – this would only be done if the Americans lowered the American flag flying above as a sign of surrender. The Americans refused, initiating a brave struggle against the British that began at twilight and waned on throughout the night, the sky lit up by a deadly barrage of British bombs. In the morning, when Key looked out, the flag was still flying, proudly, over the rampart. Key discovered that the flag and the flagpole had endured direct hits from the British guns, and it still remained standing.
This remarkable event, the perseverance and valiance of those dedicated American soldiers who fought and died to protect the flag, inspired him to write the patriotic song that would become known as our national anthem.

  4. The video is simply about the American flag. The video shows the conflict that was between the British and the American and then it shows how the flag stayed up until the morning of the battle. The American flag was never abused because the Americans protected it from the enemies.

  9. This video is about how the star spangled banner originated from when the flag stood high in the sky despite the heavy combat during the battle of Fort McHenry. The war torn flag that got peppered repeatedly but still held high, No matter how many times the British tried to shoot it down it still stood there. Despite the heavy bombardment and overwhelming troops the Americans did not give up.The song Francis would make is to express American bravery and patriotism.

  11. This video discusses the origins of "The Star-Spangled Banner"', how a lawyer, Francis Scott Key had boarded a British prisoner ship, the HMS Tonnant in hopes with negotiating the release of all detainees on the vessel. Although he was successful he was not pleased to see hundreds of British warships approaching who would attempt to demolish Fort McHenry unless its flag was lowered. Now in my opinion this video is important as it discusses the patriotism and sacrifices made by those located at Fort McHenry to keep the flag from falling, having costed them many casualties in-order to due this. On the ship Francis Scott Key informed the detainees of the horrific events he witnessed, the bombs flying and hundreds of warships present with their guns directed at the rampart, but that the flag still flew. Upon his arrival at Fort McHenry he was greeted by a barbarous canvas of corpses and severe damage caused upon the installation. Those corpses belonged to patriots. Patriots who sacrificed their lives, who committed a self-less service in order to keep the flag flying.

This video is about the national anthem. The meaning of the song and how the song ,written by a lawyer named francis scott key. Great Britain was holding americans captive in boats. America negotiated to see if they can make a mutual exchange. The british had agreed and after francis scott key went to tell the americans that they will soon be free, The Admiral told him that britain is sending their entire british war fleet to destroy Fort Henry. The problem was that fort Henry wasn't a military fort it was a home to woman, men, and children. The admiral said if they lowered the flag then the british will seize fire. After a couple more hours he went to shore and he arrived at the Fort. What he saw was that the pole and the flag took several hits. He saw that the flag pole wasn't holding itself up anymore, it was patriotic men that gave their lives to keep that flag up.

  13. DiazC4. The video discusses Francis Scott Key's eyewitness account of an attack on Fort McHenry by the British Navy. The video discusses how Francis was able to witness the attacks by the British naval fleet and watch how the British continued to launch bombs at the fort, soldiers and our flag. But one thing that Francis continued to notice was that the American flag still flew throughout the whole battle even though the fort was getting destroyed by bombs and American soldiers were dying. The video was very inspirational and it showed us how brave and proud the patriots were that night to protect their flag till the death.

The video tackles an in-depth analysis of the diction of Francis Scott Key in penning the "Star-Spangled Banner." Although millions of Americans in their youth are told to memorize the song, only a minority are aware of the reasoning behind the lyrics. The story of how the song came about can be traced back to the American Revolutionary War, in which the two opposing parties held prisoners from the other side. Francis Scott Key, after having been sent to negotiate with the British, succeeded in releasing the said prisoners. Despite having successfully overcome this problem, another arose: the Americans were being provoked to lower their flag as a sign of surrender, or a fort filled with women and children will be demolished. Regardless of this threat, the flag was left in its position even after numerous direct hits. This symbolizes the patriotism and courage of Americans in defending their nation against the British.

This video explains how the Star Spangled Banner was created. During the battle of Fort McHenry the British wanted too shoot down our flag. Lawyer Francis Scott Key witnessed how the prisoned men just kept asking if our flag was still up he also heard the pray " God keep that flag flying where we last saw it". The next day the flag was still on the top even after it suffered getting hit multiple times. In the video it also says that what held the flag in place in a wired angle where patriots bodies who stood to protect our flag. After this Francis Scott Key was inspired to write the Star Spangled Banner.

There was a loyal and dutiful lawyer known as Francis Scott Key. He created our national anthem. Most people knew the song and sang the words, but there was a deeper meaning behind the song. A story of men who stood brave and tall to protect the flag and its people. To protect their rights and freedoom, the justice and honor, the colonies it represents, etc. They protected the flag with their life. "The thing that sets the American Christian apart from all other people in the world is he will die on his feet before he lives on his knees" said by George Washungton. No matter what came at the flag, the flag still stood above the rampart. The flag was still above the top. All men held the flag up willing to suffer to protect their flag. One by one, lives have gone, patriotoc bodies held aside, yet men continue to protect what's theirs. The flag meant more then their oen lives to them. Without the flag, we have nothing.

In this video, the Star Spangled Banner was created by Francis Scott Key. Most of us didn't really know what it means. American told the British to let us negotiate which is Francis Scott Key. Many of the British tried to shoot the flag down but then it never fell. Francis was happy to see the flag undamaged and safe which inspired him to write the Star Spangled Banner. Many people respect our flag because it symbolizes our country and as we sing the song, we respect our country.

  19. A song we all were taught and memorized as children, a song that we thought was simply a morning routine of ours, the star spangled banner. Written by Francis Scott Key, a lawyer from Baltimore,MD. Key was an eyewitness to the British naval attack on our forts, soldiers, and our flag. American prisoners were held in boats,The US sent Francis Scott Key out to the boats to negotiate. He returned and when he opened the crate with the prisoners, he said, "Men, i got news for you tonight.. you're free."The flag surviving the attack on Fort McHenry, which was not military, but home to many families, symbolized America as a whole not giving up and still standing when all when wrong.

As a child we learn to memorize the Star spangled banner by heart but we was never taught the meaning behind it. There was conflict with Britain. Britain had prisoners from the colonies and the colonies has prisoners from Britain, they made a deal "Men could be exchanged one by one". There was a lawyer name Francis Scott Key that was sent to the british ships and convince them to trade prisoners, Francis Scott Key was successful with the trade of men. During the War of 1812 Britain attacked in Chesapeake Bay in the summer of 1814. The british wanted to bring down the flag. Francis saw the flames get closer to the flag. Hours passed by and the flag was still up. Francis had pride that the flag would not go down " I saw the flag of my country waving over a city – the strength and pride of my native State". The people prayed for the flag to stay up "all that he could hear was the men down below praying the prayer god keep that flag flying where we last saw it". Sunrise came there was heavy mist but the flag pole was high enough that he saw the Flag there. "Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light...And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave".

The Star-Spangled Banner is the national anthem of the United States. The poem that formed the national anthem was written in 1814 by Francis Scott Key, a 35-year old lawyer who was sent to negotiate with the British in an attempt to gain the release of an American prisoner they were holding. On September 7, Key reached the British fleet and after a few days of negotiations, secured the release of the prisoner. However, the British planned to attack Baltimore and would not release the Americans until after the battle. Francis Scott Key visited the British fleet in the Harbor on September 13th to secure the release of Dr. William Beanes who had been captured during the Washington raid the British launched a fierce bombardment of Fort McHenry in Baltimore that lasted throughout the night, an event Key witnessed from the deck of a U.S truce ship. The following morning Key saw the Americans take down the battle-torn U.S flag that had survived at the fort and replace it with a larger one. This inspired him to write down notes for his famous poem, which he finished upon his return to Baltimore the evening of the 16th. Even the colors of the U.S flag have meaning : white -purity, blue-justice and red- valor.

The video shown in the blog was about the story behind the creation of the national anthem of the U.S. "Star Spangled Banner" by Francis Scott Key. Francis was a lawyer who was sent to a British ship with the intention of getting a prisoner released. He was successful with the negotiations, but due to the British's attack plan for Baltimore would not release any prisoners until the battle was over. The anthem was created when Francis, observing from a neutral ship, felt extremely patriotic watching the United States flag not fall during the battle. Baltimore never fell, and the anthem was created.

    1. The video is talking about what the national anthem is really about, the story behind it, and not everyone knows the story behind it. Francis Scott Key fought for the flag as the British war fleet starting shooting the fort as they were no release. He reported to the men of what was happening with the flag. Francis Scott Key told the admiral what George Washington said he'll die on his feet before he dies on his knees relating it to the flag. The prisoners from the British boat were praying that flag was still standing where they last saw it. The flag was a bit destroyed and so was the pole but it was still standing as the men had prayed for. Francis Scott key found out that the flag was hit so many times but as the flag was on the floor the men had picked it up and held it up as they died as the British guns were pointing towards them.

  31. This video sums up the rich and illustrious history of the united states of americas national anthem. Francis scott key, a baltimore lawyer was asked to negotiate wtih the british troops about prisioners being held on a ship in the atlantic ocean. Mr. key began conversing with the British trying to reach an agreement. Afterr a short while they finally were able to come to a consensual agreement. Although they agreed the britsh seaman francis scott key was conversing with told him that attempting to release the troops was futile. He told him that the british would wipe the fort off the face of the earth. A short while later just that happenend the entire british fleet began firing upon the fort. After a time they decided to fire upon the flag because of the fact that they had not given up yet. Later Mr. key finds out the reason the flag never fell was because men on the fort held the flag up will being shot at and were killed. This patriotic act inspired Francis scott key to write the star spangled banner.
