Blog #2 Something new to consider about the Olympics

Hi again cadets:

Thanks for your hard word these past two weeks while I have been away. I am getting better and should return shortly.  Saying that, I thought I would give you something that is really on topic today.  The Winter Olympics are coming up at Sochi Russia and our U.S. Team along with teams from around the world are going there to compete.  With the recent revelations about the Olympic Games, my question to you this week is would you go if you were representing your country? Would you bring your family?  You must support your decision with facts and data.  As always, you should use internet sites to support your decision and make sure you comment on your peer's work as well. Good luck with your work this week and Go Team U.S.A. I am also proud to say that our team is actually wearing uniforms that were made in the U.S.A. again, the way that it should be!

I would love to go to represent our country because it is a honor to go represent what we stand for. But unfortunately I do not have any time to do so as I have been really busy because of my family.

I would love to represent the U.S to go to the Olympics because as a citizen of United States I think it is very honorable to represent our country to go against other country. I might not be very good in sports and many other things but it is always better to have an extra person to go and cheer and fight for our country mentally and physically. it would be my pleasure to bring my family to see the Olympics and how much of an improvement I made ever since I joined the program. I want to prove to my family that I can do everything that a that is needed of me and I want them to see my improvement if I made one on the Olympics and if I am not as lucky and didn't win for the country they can at least be there to cheer for me and give me strength to move on and continue to fight. with teamwork everything would be a success. but sadly I won't be able to go because of my health issues but I still hope that one day I can represent my country to join the Olympic and win for our country.

This year the Winer Olympic Games will take place in Sochi, Russia. Many games are played at the Olympics such as curling, ice hockey, luge, skeleton, ski jumping, speed skating and many other sports. If I was representing our country I would absolutely attend the Olympic Games. To me it would be a honor to be apart of team U.S.A. My family could also come with me not only to watch the games but to also support me. Even if I don't win it would still be a great experience and opportunity. It is said that this will be the most expensive Olympic game In history. I hope that maybe one day I can have the chance of going and watching the games.

    1. What about all of the possible terrorist threats? That is my real questionable point. Should we let the fear of terrorists stop our dreams? Keep up the great work, you cadets are awesome and I can't wait to get back to work.

I would love to represent the U.S to go to the Olympics because it would be an honor to represent the United States Of America. Even if we wouldn't win it (because i suck in sports) But i would be an honor because at least we would cheer on our country. I would bring my family so my family would cheer me on, on a very important day.

    1. Cadet Cardenas, would you want your family to be subjected to a possible terrorist threat? Make sure you post a Site about the Olympics. You are doing a very good job and thanks for checking on the blog this week.

Despite the glory and the sense of self-accomplishment that joining the Olympic Games would bring, I would decline the offer to represent the country. One of the reasons being that there are much more capable individuals who have been training their entire lives in this field. It is only right to allow them the opportunity to display the skills that they have honed. In addition, this particular event which will take place in Sochi has been serving as a ground for terrorist threats from the North Caucasus Islamic group. While the Olympic Committee does not deem the threat quite promising, the Munich massacre—a terrorist attack during the 1972 Summer Olympics—should be taken as enough of a precaution that it could happen and that stricter security should be enforced during the upcoming event. Three members of the said terrorist group also perpetrated a bombing attack in Volgograd on the 29th and 30th of December, in a successful attempt to trigger fear in those who will be competing in the Olympics. So hypothetically saying that I did possess the capacity to compete, I would represent our country, but I would not bring my family.

  6. I would definitely go because I live in the US so representing my home is an honor. It would give a certain motivation that says I'm one of the best athletes in the world and the best of America. Time to represent. I would want my family to be their just for the support. Logan F5

  8. Even though i am aware of the possible terrorist attacks i would love to be a part of the Olympics especially if it means that i will represent my country because i feel it would be a good experience.I would not take my family with me because I would not want to put them in danger although it would be nice to have them there.

If I would have the opportunity to go to the olympics I would take it without a doubt. All though there are terrorist threats, we cannot live in fear. The TERRORists just want to scare us and we cannot let them win by not going to the games.

If i was chosen to be part of the team that represents the U.S.A i would take it. It would be an honor to be one of the best. If your pride in representing the country is stronger than fear of possible terrorist attacks, that makes me worthy on a different scale. My family would come to support me and also to protect me if something happens.

I would go to the Olympics at the first chance that I saw. Bringing my family would be the most important thing on my "to bring" list. What is a once in a lifetime experience if I couldn't share it with my family? It would be amazing to watch so many peoples get over their differences to compete in some epic events. Additionally, the high security would make everyone feel safe and comfortable so they could all do their best.

I would like to go to the Olympics if I could and bring my family which would be the first thing any normal person would think. It'd be pretty awesome to see the capabilities of people all over the world in one place. But sadly this event of coming together and representing your country is often times targeted by terrorists, so beefed up security would make me feel safer.

If i had the choice to see the Olympics, i would definitely go and bring my parents and sister. Going to see the Olympics is one example of showing your patriotism, by showing your support to your country that you love.

  17. Who wouldn't want to represent a place they come from? I wouldn't mind if it meant bringing great honor to my country, and family, most important to myself.
