Blog #5 Veteran's Day and paying tribute for all they have sacrificed

Good Morning Cadets! I hope you are enjoying your day off this Veteran's Day. I am posting the following video because it seems just like yesterday that I raised my right hand and said the oath of allegience to our country.  Your task it to watch the following video and respond on how it makes you feel.  Once you have done this, find your own video to add to our site to pay hommage to our Veterans for their sacrifices that they have made to keep our country free. Remember to lastly comment on one of your peer's work and your assignment for this week will be complete. Good luck and I look forward to viewing your selected videos. Try not to duplicate your other LET1's video selections if you can.

Veterans Day was meaningful to those who made the sacrifice. Hopefully in the future there will be no war if the people have the knowledge about how unconstitutional the wars we have fight over the years. Semper Fidelis

  2. That first scene with the swearing in ceremony was a lot of deja vu.
Here's another video that I watched around veteran's day, and it took a lot not to cry over it. Prepare yourself.

I think the video that you posted is really touching because it says that a lot of our veterans are homeless and I think they deserve better than that because of everything that they have done and they deserve more than respect and a lot of other things.

I agree. That video was really touching. It is terrible how so many people see homeless people on the streets and assume they are likely drug addicts when they are actually veterans.

I think this is a really good video because it shows them doing the oath of allegiance to our country. Also I think that veteran's day is a really important day because it is to honor the soldiers that fought for us and sacrificed themselves for our country. And also a lot of them left behind their families, or died, or they were injured badly. Therefore, I think they deserve a lot of respect.

It's tragic how so many veterans risk their lives and leave their families, yet end up on the streets. The video appreciates all that the veterans do for us. Its important to appreciate them because our nation wouldn't be where it is today if it weren't for the veterans.

  6. In my opinion , this video makes me feel both happy and sad at the same time . People risk their own lives to protect us American citizens but enjoy the life they have . They all help keep our country safe. It's sad how millions of people die or leave their families to join the army . It's a honor for them to be called our Soldiers . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QA1GF9dlXJw

This video makes me feel inspired. That is because all these veterans put everything on the line to just help the people in our country. If i cant be in the army yet then maybe i can go and support them and ask my parents to fund any money to the veterans. Near the bay ridge parkway there are veterans sitting at the corner for hours when i drive by with my parents if i have any money i give it to them because it is not fair that they served in the army for this country but they are on the street asking for money.

  9. I have always said I am going to join the Marines just to help my country. It's amazing and at times depressing to hear the stories of these veterans. They risked everything, they put their lives on the line. It's amazing to see them stand tall and proud and say they fought and survived for our freedom
