Blog #15 First Aid and the Good Samaritan

Good morning Cadets and welcome back to the last semester of your LET1 year. For our new cadets welcome as well.  This week we will be looking for new information about The Good Samaritan Law that protects those volunteers that try to save other peoples lives.  Your task this week is to locate a news article or video about a Good Samaritan and to post the URL back to our site and give a brief reason on why you chose the story. Along with that, remember that you must also comment on at least one of your peers works. Once you have completed all three parts of this task, you will be eligible for your full grade. Good luck and I look forward to seeing your work, specially the new cadets. Here is my video for a Good Samaritan, I hope you like it.  Don't forget to check back for the next homework later this week-end. There will be at least 3 to help make up for your test scores. :-)

This article is about the Good Samaritan saved Jean Girouard who is 85 years old, slipped and fractured his shoulder in Vaudreuil-Dorion. I choose this because as what Jean's son said it was a simplest act, but it can save someone's life. It's shudders to think of what would have happened to the person who has life-threatening and no one comes to help.

    1. This article was really interesting to read and I agree that it's hard to think about someone who needs help with no aid

The article is about the Good Samaritan Law explaining how it 'protects' people from doing 'good deeds' such as helping a person at a car accident. It provides examples of what it can help people who don't or do have some things like health care providers. I choosed this website because it demonstrates one of the many things what the Good Samaritan Law can protect people of.

This article is about a woman how had broke into a man`s car to save a baby how was in danger because of hot car. The baby was in the car for 40 minutes, the dad was charged with child endangerment, the woman was not charged, because her conduct was covered by a state Good Samaritan law.
I chose this article because the woman still went through with the act even after being warned by a security guard that she could be arrested.

  3. This article isn't about a person who performed CPR or performed the Heimlich maneuver on somebody, but rather a man who expected nothing in return helping a homeless man in need who had been facing the biting cold for most of the winter. This man gave the clothes off of his back to save another mans life. A Good Samaritan doesn't always have to help the injured or the Ill but sometimes helps those in need. http://www.theweathernetwork.com/us/news/articles/us-weather/heartwarming-moment-shows-good-samartan-helping-homeless-new-york-subway/62252

I agree that you do not have to save a person to be a good Samaritan.

i also agree with you, cause any act of kindness to those in need with out having nothing in return is a good samaritan.

As for my article regarding the good Samaritan law, I realized that it does not typically always have to be for only human beings. As my article shows, a good Samaritan returned an owners dog after it was put on sale for craigslist, the good Samaritan proceeded to return it to its rightful owner after the dog was supposedly lost. I chose this article as a new perspective of the law that demonstrates how the good Samaritan law reflects all living beings.

I like how you bring up how the Good Samaritan helps all life. Also this a great example of this because the dog is saved and the owners got their dog back. It really helped human and dogs.

I chose this article because it show how important Good Samaritans are. This two strangers was possibly the difference of life and death so they are heroes save a man. I also like the perspective, of this grateful it shows how the men really impacted someones life. Life is a precious and we should be grateful for a law that encourages to preserve life.

I chose this video because it really represents what a Good Samaritan is. In the video even though the women was in danger she selflessly protected the child from being harmed by the robbers.

  9. This video represents what a Good Samaritan can do for someone in need , while everyone walks by and doesn't do anything and doesn't help him to get better they just walk by . But that one person who helped is a Good Samaritan and really cared . https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=A8VRSFuFDGk

i choose this video because, this man saw how the homeless man was cold and didn't think twice about if he should or shouldn't give his hat and shirt. Not many of us would do something like this, cause the first thing we do when we see a homeless person is to turn away or seat as far as possible. but One this we should keep in mind is to always treat others as you would like to be treated , because god forbid that would be you one day.

I chose this video because it shows 2 things. (1) It shows how a woman, a single mother living at home, being a waitress, earning as little as $8 dollars from tips, had enough kindest in her heart to do something for someone else. (2) It shows that kindness pays off, and how people react to kindness

I picked this video because it sent a strong message to the public. It shows how some people would see someone hurt and would just walk away instead of helping them , some people might of left because they might of being scared to get in trouble. But that's why there is the Good Samaritan law , to encourage people to help others , with good intentions and without expecting anything in return.
