Hi again and I hope you are enjoying your Spring Break. You task this week is to reflect on what you have learned in school this year and to set what you goal is going to be once you graduate High School. Remember that you goal must be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Results based, and Time Bound. Post your goal on our blog and explain how you plan to achieve your goal. Once you have done that, post a URL/Website that had information about your goal and lastly, post comments on your peers work. As always, I look forward to reading your comments and I hope that each and every one of you have a great Spring Break.

When I graduate, my goal is to earn my bachelor's degree in Engineering in at least 4 years. Also, I want to buy a house, get a car and much more;therefore, I have to work as hard as possible to earn my college degree and obtain a job that will benefit me for the rest of my life.
ReplyDeleteYou have a nice and attainable goal. It is time bound, measurable, and attainable. The problem is that the steps you listed in order to achieve it are too general.
DeleteVery good critique Cadet Guiveses, keep up the great work

ReplyDeleteMy goal for my life after high school is to attend Cornell University or Columbia University for my entire undergraduate career. In order to achieve this, I will take the following steps: maintain an unweighted GPA of 95 or above, attain at least a 2000 on the SAT, and diligently participate in extracurricular activities (e.g. American Red Cross, Make a Difference Club, teams under JROTC). These listed processes will be followed through effectively with time management, devotion, and perseverance. Specific details include, but are not limited to, participating in class daily, acing quizzes and exams, and attending club meetings and team practices.

DeleteI you have a great goal we can do anything we put our minds to because nothing is impossible. I also want to attend Cornell university it is one of the many school I have in mind to apply to.
DeleteAll of this things you stated is very specific and detailed however, the only two flaws in this was how long this goal is going to take and what are you going to do after you graduate from your dream college?
DeleteThis school year has just flown right by me. I can't believe that I have ALMOST successfully completed my first year of high school. I'm not going to say it was a walk down the park, I came across many challenges. For example at one point I found my self to be to involved in extra curricular activities and not focusing as much on my work. Then I realized it's all about time management there is no Time to sleep. During my lunch periods instead of talking to friends I would do some homework so that it was one less to do. After graduating from high school I would like to attend either St.Johns University or St.Bonaventure University. Both colleges offer ROTC, which will give the opportunity to graduate from college as a 2LT. After I graduate I would like to enlist in the U.S. Army. To do this I will continue to manage my time by still being involved but at the same make time study and do all my work. During lunch or a class when there is a substitute and no assignment. I will also maintain my GPA no less than a 92 . Therefore I should study my notes from that day, for at least an hour after I finish my homework. It won't be easy but it is definitely worth all the hard work and time.

DeleteGo for it girl , you're a brilliant girl . I'm pretty sure if you work hard enough you will achieve your goals after HS. XOXO
DeleteAfter I graduate from high school I want to work my way on working in government position. I know that this task is going to be difficult, by doing so I plant to stay in the jrotc program to improve on my leadership and social skills. Second, I want to have an GPA of a 90 or higher that means I have to study a whole lot which I need to do often. Lastly I want to join the military to have some military background when I hold government positions. I know this is going to be a lengthy goal but that don't matter this makes me more determine to achieve it.

Deletethis could be a good goal but it is not time bound and specific enough. you can think of a specific government job and have a specific GPA because 90 or above is not specific enough.
DeleteI agree with cadet Yang. You have a great goal, dont get me wrong ! It would just be more attainable if your goal was more specific on how you plan to have a high GPA. How many hours are you willing to put aside to those hard nights of studying ?! Lastly, as cadet Yang stated it does not have a time bound. Try setting a time bound as to when you will hold a government positions :)
DeleteBesides that, great goal !
My goal is to work as an engineer for the US Army. I can do this by keeping a 90+ grade in my math and science classes. After high school I can get even closer to this goal by going to college specialized in engineering (I'm undecided). I believe I should be able to achieve this goal by the time I'm 30.

This year hasn't been such an easy year but with the time i have left I'm going to work my hardest get back on track every second counts because i know i can do better . This year I have got more involved in my school such a JROTC and 2 Varsity teams. After graduating HS I have 3 plans if any other doesn't work out for me. First is getting into West Point and become apart of the US army after, second if west point doesn't accept me earn scholarship for college and after join the Army and finally if 1 or 2 don't work out enlist into the US army and go to college after that. To do any of these plans, i will study an extra 30 minutes and days before any exams , give in all assignments when they are due , not procrastinating and getting things done asap. when i have extra time get stared on anything else. on my own practice anything I'm having trouble with and get tutoring if the class or subject is getting that difficult.

DeleteAs a sophomore, I feel as if my time is limited to know what I want to do after i graduate high school. In all honesty, I do not truly know what direction I will head after high school. Although, one thing is for sure: I will work harder and study harder for at least 3 hours per week in all subjects but especially chemistry. I will do this till my last year in high school so that my grades will increase, with no less than a 85 in every class by the start of my senior year. I will then hopefully get a scholarship that will help me get into Saint Johns College where I will be studying for medicine. After years of College and medical school, which are plenty, I will become an anesthesiologist which is my main goal at the moment.
ReplyDeleteAs time goes on hopefully i'll know for sure in what direction i'll be headed to. I have in mind to join the JROTC in Saint Johns College for 4 years and enter the US ARMY as a 2nd lieutenant. Also, I have in mind to go to beauty school or also get a career as in interior designer but for now my main goal is college and that is what i know for sure that im going to do with the plan i have stated that shows how i will accomplish that.

after I graduate from medical college I want to become a surgeon in a hospital. I want to earn at least $ 10,000 a month to be able to support my family and buy houses and cars for my parents. in order to achieve the goal as a surgeon I need to achieve 100 in health class and 95 or above in science and math class. I must achieve this goal at the age of 30 which is when I graduate from medical college.

ReplyDeleteWhen I graduate, I would like to go to Paris to become a pastry chef. I would like to start from a world knowned city to be an apprentice. In order to achieve my goal, first I have 3 more years to do everything I can to get Good grades, second, I would have to enter a college dealing with culinary and baking, and third, I would have to go past my limits to get an internship hopefully. I can only do so much, but if I try and try and don't give up, I can make my dream a reality. I will achieve this goal after i graduate college. Which means plenty of time for me to study and work hard.
In a way this year has not managed to be horrible, I have achieved honors grades in all but 1 class, chemistry, but hey you cant blame me its hard. As a child besides the unrealistic expectations of ruling my own kingdom , I hoped of becoming a performer, singer to be precise. It was not until i grew older that i realized i wanted a private simple life, and singing as a hobby. Im still unsure of what i plan to do with my life. Hundreds of quizzes and tests and im still unsure. When i graduate i want to pursue a career in the army or navy, again im indecisive. I plan to enter the field of medicine, im still choosing between psychiatry ,rehabilitation, or emergency. Emergency medicine is a complicated job, many would not do well under pressure. I plan to accomplish my goals by attending a university with either naval or army ROTC, to keep my grades above a 93 in every class with the exceptions of classes where i absolutely feel lost, for those i need a minimum of 80 for. I would also like to attend either United States Naval Academy or United States Military Academy, they are the top choice but if i can not get into them , i plan to carry on with my service either way with enlistment or ROTC.

ReplyDeleteMy goal in life is to serve as a detective under the FBI as a federal agent by graduating high school with a GPA of around 90 or higher. I plan to achieve this goal by serving in the US Marine Corp as law enforcement positions favor those with military discipline and experience. I initially did not want to join the military for experience for a better resume but more so out of patriotism so this will actually kill 2 birds with 1 stone. After 4 years of military service I plan to specialize in criminal justice in college for 4 years since FBI special agents require a minimum of 4 years in college. Marine Corp service plus college work will add up to 8 years so if everything goes as planned I expect to achieve this goal at the age of 26.
This website shows my goal requirements and how everything I plan to do will conveniently work out for both my requirements and my desires.
