Good morning cadets. We are in the process of celebrating Memorial Day this coming Monday so your task this week is to honor those individuals that have fought for and served our country, most have paid the ultimate sacrifice. You must post a video to our site that honors the memory of our valiant service members. You may also post a story or a poem that reflects their courage. If you create your own video and post it to YouTube and then to our site, you will get double credit for your work this week. Remember that the last thing that you have to do is to post a comment on at least one of your peer's works. Thank you so much for taking the time to display your caring for these individuals. Memorial Day is a moment to remember not only those who have fought and died but those who fought and can serve as a wonderful inspiration... like this WWII veteran who was part of a British pilot's division called "Attagirls" and is, you guessed it, one of the very few females who flew fighter planes for the British.
ReplyDeleteThough she isn't an American veteran, her story can be an inspiration even to young American girls- here is a video of her flying a plane for the first time since the war ended seventy years ago. This just goes to show how much service can have such an impact on a person's life, and give one an amazing sense of purpose and pride.

Memorial day I believe is a day in which we honor the soldiers or veterans that died for our freedom. Such wars like the the civil war, WW1, WW2, Vietnam and Korean war. Its a day where we realize how people died for what we are now, safe and free.

Memorial day is a day where we should all take the time to remember all those who have fought and died for our country. This video has a mixture of things what these men and women do to protect not only us but the country as a whole. Also, how they fight for our freedom.
