Good morning again cadets and great job on your first assignment. Since we are studying about the Cadet Creed and remembering to not "Lie Cheat, or Steal", your task this week is to read/listen to the following clips and post your opinions. Remember that this information was being used as facts by a Presidential Candidate and also posted on the Internet so it must be true? Right? After you have posted your opinion, search for a similar story that doesn't tell the whole truth and post the URL to our site along with your comments on one of your peers work. While anti-abortion activist did lie, I believe that they still had the right to defend their cases. However I`d like to question as to why they went so far as to even cut videos. All I really obtained was that of the knowledge that they like to repeat that they make no profit out of the "donations of tissue."

ReplyDeleteMy opinion on this is that they may be right that the videos are edited, but who says they're arent? Planned Parenthood says these videos are edited, and some are misleading; leaving out most of the video footage, only most (videos) showing the abortions that may have gone wrong.On the other hand, how the procedures of aborting the babies is brutal. According to the article: "the full footage CMP tapes were, in fact, missing large sections" But, womens health care is just as important as mens; Planned Parenthood does more than just abortions, they provide heath care to pregnant women who need it.

ReplyDeleteI think that if the source material being the abortion videos being tampered with editing makes the evidence invalid. The evidence should not be used if it was edited and the people who gave the evidence are against anti-abortion meaning they could of edited the video in their favor. I feel the activist should of shown the original video to prove Planned Parenthood is actually selling tissue. However we still need a thorough inspection of Planned Parenthood to find if the activist are correct.

DeleteI agree with you and I also believe that evidence should not be used if it was tampered with.
I agree that tampered evidence should not be included in the trial, but that the untampered and untouched evidence should be used during trial.

ReplyDeleteThe planned parenthood said that the videos were cut. This was used against them by the anti-abortion activists. They also claimed that they were selling the "donated tissue". In my opinion the activists were the ones lying.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, lying to obtain help is wrong but some people have no option then to lie to obtain the help they need. That does not mean it's right but they have their reasons. I'm against abortion and even if the anti-abortiotion activist did lie ,they still have the right to defend their case. Abortion is a brutal procedure for the baby and for the woman aborting.
